Wearable Device Policy
Wearable devices are becoming more common as a result of technological advancements and new capabilities. These devices may exist in the form of clothing, watches or eyewear and can serve as standalone gadgets or may link to another device such as a smartphone, tablet or laptop.
This Wearable Device Policy, from TechRepublic Premium, is designed to protect company data and staff by outlining the acceptable use of these devices and ensuring that employees abide by the guidelines documented herein.
From the policy:
PROCUREMENT OF COMPANY-OWNED WEARABLE DEVICES
Depending on an employee’s role, the organization may purchase and provide end users with wearable devices that apply to the execution of their job duties.
When the organization provides an end user with a wearable device, if extended internet access capabilities are needed (such as while traveling or out of range from organizational Wi-Fi access points), the company will also purchase a corresponding smartphone, cellular voice and/or data service for device usage.
