Speaking volubly about his organization’s involvement with the event this year was Javier Perez, chief evangelist and senior director of product management at OpenLogic by Perforce. Reminding us that there are now more than 850 open-source projects under the umbrella of the Linux Foundation, OpenLogic by Perforce (an enterprise-class alternative to Oracle Java) has been part of many of those open-source projects and communities for years.

“As an advocate and open-source evangelist, I’ve been involved in this industry for over 25 years and it’s fascinating to watch its evolution,” said Perez. “My talk at the summit this year aimed to cover most areas within open source, from the most used and popular open-source technologies to the maturity of organizations in the use of open-source software. What we want to do is to be informative and look at the latest trends in open-source software, and how organizations are strategically utilizing it.”
