Contract Work Policy
It’s common practice for companies to use contractors to offload work to specialized individuals or reduce costs associated with certain tasks and responsibilities. This can free up in-house staff to focus on more complex and valuable initiatives.
The purpose of this contract work policy from TechRepublic Premium is to establish guidelines for retaining, overseeing and terminating contracts including orientation, access and role determinations, and business considerations.
From the policy:
CONTRACT WORK POLICY DETAILS
Establish that any material created by the contract worker for the benefit of the
organization will be considered property owned by the business and not to be used elsewhere or taken with the contractor when they depart. This includes software code, documentation and disaster recovery procedures — anything uniquely pertaining to the business. Generic scripts or process documentation not company-related may be kept by the contractor(s) pending approval by the IT department or authorized personnel.
The download comprises a seven-page PDF and Word document.
